The actual procedure only takes 20 minutes tops! All the doctor does is inject the area that’s hurting with the pain injection and it’s over. You can choose to be put under or you can do it wide awake. The procedure is relatively painless, but if you are scared of needles it’s absolutely no issue to use anesthesia.
How long does a pain injection last?
The time a pain injection lasts completely depends on the individual. A younger person could get a single injection and it will last for months and months. If you’re older and the pain is more severe, you may need to get up to three injections a few weeks apart until you are completely pain free. They may last anywhere from 3-6 months before you will need to come in again.
